FROM THE STAFF
MICRO-ENTERPRISE IS OFF AND RUNNING.....
Vini, our Director, along with Naca Rika (accountant) and Dobui Savu launched our micro-enterprise project in Labasa by giving a life skills seminar to a group of 15 women that are interested in starting their own family business. We, as a ministry are desiring to give small business loans to selected individuals that have this interest. This has been made possible through a designated gift to the ministry.
The ladies were very excited as they learned the steps in organizing and budgeting their finances to begin a savings account that will help them to qualify for this assistance. Some of the businesses they will start will be selling items such as mats, root vegetables, jam etc. We will follow-up with them in 8 weeks to see who will then qualify for the small business loans.
Lomani, our Co-Director, has also been mentoring 4 young men in developing skills that will enable them to become employed and eventually step out into their own business. They have been doing landscaping, moving furnishings and equipment projects as needed.
These endeavors go beyond just training and developing skills for these ladies and young men. It becomes a ministry from the heart as spiritual discipleship and relationship building become key factors. As one life is impacted and begins to develop, they in turn influence others in their families and community. This dynamic then causes a domino effect that touches so many other spheres.
We are very thankful for the individuals that gave this gift as well as the gift itself. The power of giving is truely making a difference in these single men and married ladies lives.
If you would be interested in being a financial sponsor in this exciting project, please contact us.

VINAKA VAKA LEVU FOR OUR VISITING TEAMS
There never seems to be a lot of idle moments at PTC this time of year, as we have been engaging with great intensity into developing and implementing new creative programs into community life here in Lautoka. We have been greatly assisted in this process with the visiting teams from Kona and most recently the Crossroads Chico team from Chico, California.
The IT team from Kona that was with us in April brought with them a new “high tech” communication system called Genesis that will enable us to be in contact with the University of Nations Kona as well as other bases worldwide in communications and ministry training. We are so blessed that they have given us this opportunity and are indeed grateful for this ministry tool.
The Chico team hit the ground running as they joined with us in May for the last two weeks of their outreach. Each day they were going with our staff to the schools, parks, hospital and villages sharing the love of Jesus. It was awesome to see the evidence of the impact and influence that was made at Sunshine school, the Old Peoples home, ministry at Natokawaqa park and a new children’s program at Riley street here in Lautoka. Each one of the team brought different skills and talent; from carpentry, computer and business training to teaching presentations etc. “Thanks, guys for helping us out and also for all the fun we had in being with you.”
It is said that, “many hands make light work” and we so found this to be true. Each one contributing what the Lord has blessed them with in skill and talent; truly encourages our hearts and the heart of Father God as well.
Here is our last day together...we will miss you.
